Vita’s tableware and lifestyle brands drove growth, surpassing Fiskars segment sales for the first time, despite a 76% EBIT plunge.
Fiskars Group reported a 1% increase in second-quarter sales to 260.9 million euros, led by its Vita segment, which outperformed the core Fiskars brand for the first time. Vita’s sales rose to 130.4 million euros from 125.3 million euros a year earlier, while Fiskars segment sales declined to 128.7 million euros from 131.1 million euros.
Earnings before interest and taxes dropped 76% to 1.3 million euros, pressured by elevated inventories. The company’s pivot toward premium tableware and lifestyle brands, including acquisitions like Royal Copenhagen and Wedgwood, drove Vita’s growth amid broader margin challenges.
The shift reflects Fiskars’ long-term strategy to diversify beyond its traditional gardening and tools business, though profitability remains under strain.
