Yoshinoya Holdings is taking a majority stake in Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya, bringing one of the nation’s fastest-growing ramen brands into the portfolio of the 125-year-old Japanese restaurant company
The Tokyo-based company announced it will acquire a 70 percent interest in Kizuki International LLC through its U.S. subsidiary, Yoshinoya US Holdings, in a deal valued at $28.7 million. The agreement also includes potential earn-out payments tied to Kizuki’s financial performance through 2029. As part of the transaction, approximately $7.5 million of the purchase price will be paid in Yoshinoya shares, with the balance paid in cash.
The deal is expected to close after customary conditions are met. The acquisition marks a significant investment in the U.S. ramen category for Yoshinoya. The company said expanding its ramen business is a key piece of its long-term growth strategy.
