American Resources subsidiary secures federal funding to boost domestic production of critical minerals for defense and tech sectors.
American Resources Corp’s ReElement Technologies received a $25 million investment from the US Department of War to expand rare earth refining capacity. The funds, allocated through the Industrial Base Fund, will finance equipment and production lines at its Marion, Indiana, facility, accelerating commercial output of high-purity rare earth elements and defense-critical minerals.
The investment aims to strengthen domestic supply chains by processing primary and recycled feedstocks, including end-of-life magnets and strategic materials. ReElement’s expanded operations will produce rare earth oxides and specialty minerals like yttrium and gallium for aerospace, semiconductors, and defense applications.
The company highlighted the move as part of broader efforts to reduce reliance on foreign sources for critical minerals. No immediate market reaction was disclosed.
