Geopolitical escalation and weak chip sector performance drag down futures ahead of Monday’s market open.

U.S. stock futures declined early Monday following renewed military strikes between the U.S. and Iran near the Strait of Hormuz. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures slipped 0.1%, while S&P 500 futures fell 0.4% and Nasdaq-100 futures saw sharper losses.

SK Hynix led early losers in the tech sector, with its shares dropping amid broader weakness in memory-chip stocks. The decline contrasts with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing’s stronger-than-expected June sales, which lifted TSM stock last week ahead of its Q2 earnings report on Thursday.

Market sentiment remains cautious as investors assess geopolitical risks and sector-specific pressures.
