Recruitment firm PageGroup reports GBP 197.6 million Q2 gross profit as Americas and Asia Pacific growth offsets European weakness.
PageGroup posted second-quarter gross profit of GBP 197.6 million, a 0.2% decline in constant currencies year-over-year. The slight drop reflects weaker trading in France, Northern Europe, and the U.K., offset by growth in the Americas and Asia Pacific regions.
First-half gross profit totaled GBP 385.2 million, down 2.4% in constant currencies. The company reduced fee earner headcount by 1.6% during the quarter, primarily in France and Northern Europe, while productivity per fee earner rose 5% to its highest level since 2022.
Regional performance varied, with Europe, the Middle East, and Africa—accounting for 51% of group profit—seeing a 4.8% decline. Management noted market conditions remain challenging but showed signs of improvement in some areas.
