Viavi Solutions launches a 4-gram GNSS-disciplined oscillator with AI-driven thermal stability, targeting size-constrained aerospace and data center markets.
Viavi Solutions (NASDAQ:VIAV) introduced the µPNT GDO-1000, a compact precision timing module measuring the size of a postage stamp and weighing under 4 grams. The device, designed for defense, airborne systems, and data centers, consumes approximately half a watt and eliminates the need for custom mechanical designs.
The module features dual-frequency L1/L5 GNSS reception and MEMS oscillator technology, achieving microsecond-class 24-hour holdover. Proprietary AI and machine learning algorithms enhance thermal stability and environmental compensation, delivering performance comparable to atomic-class clocks at a lower cost.
The GDO-1000 includes multiple inputs and outputs for system flexibility and will be demonstrated at the Joint Navigation Conference. Viavi serves telecommunications, military, aerospace, and critical infrastructure markets.
