The partnership aims to validate NVRO’s technology for large-scale tailings processing at a new Australian hub by year-end.
NVRO Metals Limited signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Hecla Greens Creek Mining Company, a subsidiary of Hecla Mining (NYSE:HL), to process 35,000 tonnes of tailings. The agreement targets an industrial-scale campaign using NVRO’s proprietary technology at its upcoming Metals Hub in Australia.
The collaboration seeks to demonstrate commercial viability and reach Technology Readiness Level 9, positioning the hub as a centralized processing platform for third-party feedstocks. A prior 20-tonne demonstration campaign in Perth must succeed, with both companies targeting completion by December.
Hecla Mining, a major silver producer, operates mines in the U.S. and Canada, producing gold, lead, and zinc alongside silver. The partnership marks a step toward scaling NVRO’s processing capabilities for broader industrial use.
