Despite escalating U.S.-Iran tensions, markets largely shrugged off geopolitical risks, though oil prices climbed. Brent crude futures hovered at $76.25, poised for a 5% weekly gain, the strongest since early May. U.S. 10-year Treasury yields rose 1.22 basis points to 4.551%.
European shares remained subdued, with the STOXX 600 up 0.17%, on track for its first weekly loss in five weeks. Japan’s bond market and currency saw volatility after officials signaled plans to boost domestic asset holdings among pension funds.
