BofA cited Nielsen point-of-sale data showing domestic SN product sell-through accelerated in late June, helped by the timing of Amazon Prime Day and upward revisions to prior weeks. The firm said Q2 trends moved above prior estimates, supporting the higher target on stronger sales momentum. On July 8, TD Cowen analyst John Blackledge lowered the firm’s price target on Amazon.com to $340 from $350 and kept a Buy rating on the shares.
Blackledge forecast Q2 revenue of $200.1B, 2% ahead of consensus, driven by accelerating AWS growth. Blackledge also expects operating income to be about 10% above consensus, driven by AWS and expanding North American margins. On July 7, Bloomberg reported that Amazon is seeking to raise at least $25B through a U.S. dollar bond sale to fund investments in artificial intelligence infrastructure.
