The bank targets underserved small-cap companies with a new 75-person team led by veteran banker Michael Flynn.
JPMorgan Chase is assembling a dedicated investment banking team to advise small-cap companies valued between $100 million and $500 million. The initiative complements an existing midcap effort that now generates over $1 billion in annual revenue, growing at more than 20% year over year.
The new unit, led by Michael Flynn, aims to expand to over 75 professionals and will operate from five U.S. cities. Executives said the small-cap segment remains largely uncontested by major rivals, offering JPMorgan a strategic advantage in cross-selling advisory and financing services.
Initial hires include Arash Farin from Centerstone Capital and Jamie Eastham from JPMorgan’s internal Strategic Financing Solutions group. The team will focus on mergers, acquisitions, and capital-raising for smaller businesses.
