Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ: HOOD) launched perpetual futures trading through its wallet via Lighter, a decentralized exchange. The move follows Robinhood Ventures’ $68 million investment in Lighter last November, enabling users to trade leveraged crypto derivatives without leaving the app or withdrawing assets as collateral.

Global decentralized perpetuals trading volume reached $448.1 billion in the 30 days ended July 6, surpassing cumulative totals from two years ago. Robinhood reported $1.1 billion in Q1 2026 revenue, up 15% year over year, as it expands into high-growth crypto derivatives.

Lighter’s token surged on the announcement, while Robinhood’s stock also gained. The partnership allows Robinhood to earn revenue from routing trades, though revenue-sharing details remain undisclosed.
