Tesla shares climbed 6% to $416.50 in midday trading, driven by stronger-than-expected Q2 2026 deliveries of 480,126 vehicles, a 25% year-over-year increase. The company also announced a Miami robotaxi launch, though CEO Elon Musk stated material robotaxi revenue is not expected before 2027.

The rally extended to peers, with Rivian, Lucid, and Nio gaining 5% to 7%, despite lacking company-specific catalysts. All three remain flat or negative year-to-date. The DRIV ETF, which tracks EV makers and related suppliers, also participated in the rebound.

Tesla’s stock remains down 8% for the year, suggesting today’s move reflects a sector-wide bounce rather than a sustained trend shift. The gains follow a volatile period for EV stocks, with broader market sentiment still cautious.
