Webasto is considering an initial public offering for its India subsidiary by 2027, with proceeds estimated between $400m and $500m. The proposed listing could value Webasto Roofsystems India at nearly $2bn, reflecting strong demand for automotive roof systems in the region.

The company has expanded its manufacturing footprint in India, with production sites in Pune and Chennai and a third factory in Haryana set to open in late 2026. Once operational, the new unit will boost annual capacity to two million roof systems. Webasto has invested over €110m in India since 2019 and plans to increase total investment to €174m by 2030.

Webasto Roofsystems India reported revenue of $99.1m in FY25, up from $76.2m a year earlier, and swung to a net profit of $33.2m after a loss in FY24. Axis Capital and JM Financial have been appointed to manage the IPO process.
