Taiwan Semiconductor leads the semiconductor foundry market with 72% revenue share, while Intel seeks to expand its minimal presence.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) dominates the semiconductor foundry market with a 72% revenue share, solidifying its position as the industry leader. Intel (INTC), by contrast, remains a minor player, grouped into a 7% category alongside other smaller competitors.
Recent developments suggest Intel may be gaining traction, however. The company secured a deal with Apple to provide foundry services, a shift from Apple’s reliance on TSMC. Additionally, Intel has attracted investments from the U.S. government and Nvidia, signaling growing confidence in its capabilities.
Despite these advances, TSMC continues to focus on high-demand artificial intelligence chips, maintaining its competitive edge. Intel’s progress remains incremental compared to TSMC’s entrenched market dominance.
