Holders of Trump’s self-branded memecoin and World Liberty Financial token face collective losses exceeding $3.8 billion after sharp declines.
Investors in Donald Trump’s self-branded memecoin have lost over $3.8 billion as the token’s value collapsed by 97% from its peak of $73 to $1.70. Trump reportedly earned $630 million from the token, while buyers collectively netted just $200 million in profits.
The memecoin launched in January 2025, coinciding with Trump’s return to office, before its steep decline. Separately, 85% of World Liberty Financial (WLFI) token holders tracked by Nansen recorded losses totaling $83 million, while the remaining 15% profited by $23 million.
Trump’s financial disclosure revealed nearly $800 million in earnings from the World Liberty Financial platform, which retains 75% of WLFI sales regardless of price.
