Spanish court finalizes Vintae’s restructuring plan to acquire a 90% stake in struggling wine producer Bodegas Riojanas.
A Spanish court has approved Vintae’s restructuring plan to acquire a 90% stake in Bodegas Riojanas, a Rioja-based wine producer facing insolvency. The ruling, issued by the Civil Section of the Court of First Instance of Logroño, is final and cannot be appealed, according to a regulatory filing with Spain’s CNMV.
Vintae’s plan, agreed with financial institutions and shareholders in May, involves transferring debt to equity and completing the stake acquisition within 15 working days. The deal follows Bodegas Riojanas’s decision last month to relocate its registered office to Madrid.
The restructuring aims to stabilize the company, known for brands like Monte Real and Viña Albina, though formal registration with Spain’s business registry is still pending.
