Firm debuts first SEC-aligned tokenized securities using BlackRock’s IVV ETF and Micron shares under U.S. custody rules.
Ondo Finance introduced a tokenized stock model compliant with SEC regulations, using BlackRock’s IVV ETF and Micron shares as the first securities. The structure relies on a third-party custodial model outlined by the SEC earlier this year, ensuring adherence to U.S. market rules.
The tokenized securities are issued on Ethereum via Oasis Pro, an SEC-registered transfer agent acquired by Ondo. Broadridge handles proxy voting and shareholder communications, granting token holders governance rights equivalent to traditional investors. The product is not yet available to U.S. investors.
Ondo claims this marks the first production deployment of the SEC’s custodial tokenization framework, demonstrating blockchain-based securities can operate within existing U.S. regulatory and custody standards.
