Japan’s largest public Bitcoin treasury firm increased its BTC reserves by 2,823 coins, raising total holdings to 43,000.
Metaplanet, a publicly listed Bitcoin treasury company in Japan, purchased 2,823 BTC in Q2 2026 for JPY 35.89 billion, equivalent to roughly USD 221 million. The acquisition raised its total Bitcoin holdings to 43,000 coins as of June 30, up from 40,177 at the end of Q1.
The company’s average cost per Bitcoin stands at approximately JPY 15.33 million. Metaplanet has been expanding its Bitcoin reserves amid ongoing institutional interest in digital assets as a treasury strategy.
