President Donald Trump has 10 days to sign or veto the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, which includes a ban on a Federal Reserve-issued central bank digital currency (CBDC). The legislation, sponsored by Senator Elizabeth Warren, secured bipartisan support but was dismissed by Trump as insignificant during recent remarks.

The bill passed with backing from both Democrats and Republicans, who praised its housing provisions. However, Trump postponed a signing ceremony, prioritizing the SAVE America Act, which focuses on voter registration requirements. Lawmakers return from recess on July 13, leaving limited time for action before August.

Trump previously indicated he would not sign other bills until the SAVE Act passed but also expressed support for the CLARITY Act, another digital asset-related measure. A veto would force Congress to address the bill’s future amid competing legislative priorities.
