ADNOC’s international arm XRG and Italy’s Eni have secured 32% stakes each in three Argentine gas blocks connected to the country’s LNG export project. The blocks—Meseta Buena Esperanza, Aguada Villanueva, and Las Tacanas—are part of the Vaca Muerta shale basin, a key unconventional gas resource.

The transaction was finalized through Sale and Purchase Agreements, marking a strategic move into Argentina’s energy sector. Vaca Muerta is one of the world’s largest shale reserves, with growing production potential amid global LNG demand.

No immediate market reaction was disclosed, but the deal underscores rising investor interest in Argentina’s energy exports.
