The Strait of Hormuz remains under tight Iranian control, with ship tracking data indicating 30-40 vessels crossing daily this week, up from prior weeks. However, no outbound crude oil tankers with active AIS signals transited the strait on Tuesday, according to tracking firms Kpler, ASXMarine, and Windward AI.

Most oil tankers currently navigating the strait are Iranian, following recent sanctions relief. While Qatari LNG tankers and commercial vessels have passed through, the lack of broader crude oil traffic underscores persistent restrictions. Earlier claims of 19 million barrels of daily oil flow have not been reflected in recent data.

Markets are cautiously assessing the situation, though immediate disruptions appear contained. The strait’s strategic importance for global oil supplies keeps traders monitoring developments closely.
