The €45m-revenue Schouten Europe expands production capacity and regional footprint with the €20m-turnover Bobeldijk Food Group.
Schouten Europe has acquired Bobeldijk Food Group, a Dutch producer of plant-based and vegetarian alternatives, to enhance its production capabilities and market position. The deal aims to meet growing demand for innovation and reliable supply in the sector, according to Schouten’s CEO.
Bobeldijk, which transitioned to plant-based products in 2020, generates €20m in annual sales. Schouten Europe, with €45m in revenue, supplies private-label products to retail, foodservice, and manufacturing sectors. The acquisition broadens Schouten’s international customer base.
The companies did not disclose staffing details or specific geographic expansion plans. The move reflects consolidation in the plant-based food industry as demand rises.
