Mediators announce roadmap for final agreement, easing oil export restrictions and unfreezing Iranian assets amid talks.
Qatar and Pakistan announced a 60-day timeline to finalize a US-Iran deal after mediation talks in Switzerland. The joint statement confirmed progress, including a roadmap for technical negotiations and the establishment of a high-level oversight committee.
The agreement lifts restrictions on Iranian oil and petrochemical exports, removes a blockade, and releases some frozen assets. A reconstruction plan for Iran was also initiated, alongside efforts to resolve the Lebanon conflict through a de-confliction cell.
Crude oil prices edged lower following the news, with West Texas Intermediate (WTI) down 1.08% at $75.60.
