S&P 500 futures slip 0.4% on Iran uncertainty
US stock futures fell Sunday evening as investors weighed uncertainty over Iran. Futures linked to the S&P 500 slipped 0.4%, while contracts tied to the Nasdaq 100 lost 0.6%.
Dow futures declined 0.3%. Energy markets climbed with instability driving oil higher. West Texas Intermediate crude jumped nearly 3% to trade near $78 a barrel, while Brent crude climbed above $81.
Attention now turns to Thursday’s release of the Personal Consumption Expenditures price index, the Fed’s preferred inflation gauge. Economists expect core PCE to show a modest acceleration from April levels.
