Ultrapar Participações (UGP) announced that Canada Pension Plan Investment Board has acquired a 4.94% stake, totaling 55.1 million common shares, as of June 1, 2026. The disclosure complies with Brazilian securities regulations requiring notification upon crossing ownership thresholds.
The stock, trading below $5, has gained over 22% in the past six months and holds a forward P/E ratio of 8.8, below the sector average of 15.95. In Q1 2026, Ultrapar reported adjusted EPS of R$0.8, beating estimates of R$0.685, though revenue of R$36.75 billion missed forecasts of R$37.29 billion.
CPP Investment Board stated the move is purely investment-driven, with no intent to alter Ultrapar’s control or management structure. The company’s fuel distribution unit sold 6.02 million cubic meters of fuel, an 8% year-over-year increase.
