Ventuals ceases offering private-company perpetual futures for AI firms OpenAI and Anthropic on decentralized exchange Hyperliquid.
Hyperliquid’s decentralized exchange will no longer host perpetual futures markets for OpenAI and Anthropic after Ventuals, a third-party platform, announced its shutdown on June 15. The move removes indirect exposure to two of the most closely watched private AI companies for speculative traders.
Ventuals had enabled trading of tokenized perpetual contracts tied to the valuations of OpenAI and Anthropic, allowing traders to bet on perceived value changes without owning actual shares. Hyperliquid’s HIP-3 framework previously permitted such third-party markets, attracting high-frequency and crypto-native traders.
The shutdown comes as investors anticipate potential IPOs for both AI firms, following heightened interest in private-company valuations. No immediate market reaction was reported.
