The US Dollar Index climbed to its highest level since May 2025 following the Federal Reserve’s decision to maintain interest rates.

The US Dollar Index (DXY) surged to 100.80 on Thursday, marking its highest level in a year. The move followed the Federal Reserve’s decision to keep interest rates steady in the 3.50%-3.75% range during Kevin Warsh’s first policy meeting as Fed Chair.

Prior to the announcement, the DXY had traded below 100.50, with market expectations largely aligned with the Fed’s decision. The last time the index reached similar levels was in May 2025, reflecting sustained strength in the greenback amid monetary policy stability.

The British Pound slipped against the dollar after the Bank of England also held rates, contributing to the dollar’s broader gains across major currency pairs.
