Giverny Capital Asset Management reduced its position in Installed Building Products (IBP) during Q1 2026, as its model portfolio fell 6.88% compared to the S&P 500’s 4.33% decline. The firm cited geopolitical tensions and inflation concerns as key drivers of volatility.

Over the past year, Giverny’s portfolio gained 8.52%, underperforming the S&P 500’s 17.80% increase. IBP shares closed at $211.31 on June 17, 2026, with a one-month return of -2.55% and a 52-week gain of 29.13%. The company holds a market capitalization of $5.69 billion.

Despite the quarterly underperformance, Giverny remains optimistic about its portfolio companies’ long-term earnings and balance sheet strength, focusing on fundamentals over short-term market movements.
