Advanced Micro Devices now expects the server CPU market to grow at over 35% annually, reaching $120 billion by 2030. The revision follows a prior forecast of 18% growth, reflecting a structural increase in compute requirements driven by “Agentic AI.” Management describes the demand as largely additive to the total addressable market (TAM).

The company’s data center revenue, already its primary growth driver, surged 57% year-over-year. AMD attributes the shift to AI models acting as agents, generating additional CPU tasks for orchestration and data processing. The updated outlook suggests near-term demand acceleration, not just long-term projections.

AMD stock has risen over 300% in the past year, with AI accelerators often cited as the key catalyst. However, the server CPU business may now emerge as an equally significant growth driver.
