WeRide (NASDAQ:WRD) and Uber Technologies (NYSE:UBER) will introduce commercial robotaxi services in Zurich’s Greater Region in 2026, pending regulatory approval. The service will integrate with Uber’s app, while Rydera manages fleet operations under WeRide’s asset-light model.

WeRide secured a driverless permit from Switzerland’s Federal Roads Office in November, enabling autonomous operations in Zurich’s Furttal area. The companies plan gradual fleet expansion, aiming for fully driverless services across urban locations.

The Zurich launch extends their partnership to five cities, following recent deployments in Madrid, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Riyadh. Europe remains a strategic focus, with two new markets announced in two weeks.
