The Nasdaq-listed automaker reported a 70% year-over-year increase in domestic EV sales, outpacing Vietnam’s broader market growth.
VinFast Auto sold 19,503 battery electric vehicles in Vietnam during May, marking a 70% rise from 11,496 units a year earlier. The surge was led by demand for its Green Limo and VF3 models, which accounted for over half of last month’s sales.
In the first five months of 2024, the company’s domestic sales climbed 74% to 97,961 vehicles, up from 56,187 in the same period last year. The Green Limo remained its top seller with 24,059 units, followed by the VF3 at 20,231 units.
VinFast aims to sell 300,000 vehicles globally in 2026, after delivering 196,919 units in 2023, including 175,099 in Vietnam. The company’s domestic sales last year represented nearly a third of the country’s total vehicle market.
