The crypto exchange now allows US users to transfer stock portfolios via ACATS, broadening its offerings beyond digital assets.
Coinbase has introduced the ability for US users to transfer existing stock portfolios to its platform using the Automated Customer Account Transfer Service (ACATS). The move marks a significant step in the company’s expansion into traditional finance, enabling users to consolidate stocks, ETFs, and crypto holdings in one place.
The update follows Coinbase’s earlier launch of stock and ETF trading, which initially offered access to around 6,000 securities. The platform now includes zero-commission trading, fractional shares, and up to 3.5% rewards on eligible USDC balances, positioning it as a competitor to brokerages like Robinhood.
The expansion reflects Coinbase’s strategy to evolve into a full-service financial platform, bridging the gap between crypto and traditional markets. No immediate market reaction was reported following the announcement.
