African fintech Flutterwave secures Series E funding at a $3.2 billion valuation, including investment from Ripple.
African payments firm Flutterwave has reached a $3.2 billion valuation following a Series E funding round, which includes an equity investment from blockchain payments company Ripple. The company did not disclose the round’s size but confirmed total funding now exceeds $500 million.
Flutterwave operates in 35 African countries, addressing cross-border payment challenges caused by fragmented banking systems and currency volatility. The company has expanded its services through acquisitions and partnerships, including a stablecoin solution with Polygon Labs to bypass traditional banking delays.
Ripple’s investment aligns with its strategy to grow its presence in Africa, providing Flutterwave with infrastructure to enhance digital asset offerings. The deal aims to improve financial services access across the continent.
