The departure raises governance questions as the AI infrastructure firm finalizes a business combination with video platform Rumble.
Northern Data announced founder and former CEO Aroosh Thillainathan has stepped down from its Management Board, effective immediately. The company provided no reason for the exit or named a successor as chairman, though John Hoffman remains co-CEO and board member.
Thillainathan’s departure follows a leadership overhaul that began in early 2025, including the promotion of Hoffman to co-CEO on September 22, 2025. The move occurs as Northern Data pursues a business combination with Rumble, finalized in an agreement dated November 10, 2025, which includes an exchange offer for shareholders.
Northern Data operates Ardent Data Center and Taiga Cloud, positioning itself as an AI infrastructure provider with expanding U.S. operations. Investors may scrutinize board continuity as the company navigates the transaction.
