The NFT brand shifts resources to Pudgy World, halting its mobile battle royale game developed with Mythical Games.
Pudgy Penguins has shut down its mobile battle royale game Pudgy Party, less than a year after its global launch. The game, co-developed with Mythical Games, was removed from iOS and Android app stores on Friday, according to an official announcement.
Pudgy Party launched in August 2023, blending multiplayer obstacle course gameplay with NFT-based in-game item trading. Despite earning Game of the Year honors from Decrypt’s GG, the project failed to sustain momentum. The team cited rapid growth of its other title, Pudgy World, as the reason for reallocating development focus.
Pudgy World, described as a flagship product, operates independently and offers a web-based experience. The shutdown reflects a strategic pivot toward internally controlled gaming assets within the Pudgy Penguins ecosystem.
