Ciena Corporation (CIEN) posted fiscal second-quarter revenue of $1.57 billion, a 40% year-over-year increase, driven by rising demand for AI-driven connectivity solutions. Adjusted earnings per share surged 290% to $1.64, exceeding expectations.

The company raised its fiscal 2026 revenue outlook to $6.3 billion, plus or minus $100 million, citing structural opportunities in high-speed networking for data centers and wide-area networks. Management attributed the growth to AI infrastructure needs, including optical transport and low-latency network capacity.

Ciena’s portfolio supports AI-ready IP networking and data center interconnect, positioning it to capitalize on multi-year demand trends in AI workloads and hyperscale data center expansion.
