Ethereum can implement post-quantum account protection today for approximately $0.07 per account, according to a researcher from the Ethereum Foundation’s privacy project Kohaku. The solution does not require a hard fork, making it feasible for immediate deployment.

The design has undergone an initial review with Fable, with further audits planned. This approach aims to safeguard accounts against potential quantum computing threats, addressing long-term security concerns for the network.

No immediate market reaction was reported following the announcement.
