SpaceX’s first trading day values the company at $2.1 trillion after shares jump 19% from the $135 IPO price.
SpaceX shares closed 19% higher on their first trading day, rising from an IPO price of $135 to $161. The stock opened at $150 and briefly traded near $177, lifting the company’s valuation to approximately $2.1 trillion, up from $1.77 trillion implied by the IPO.
The debut places SpaceX among the most valuable U.S. companies, surpassing Meta Platforms and Tesla. Starlink, its satellite internet unit, drove $11.4 billion in revenue in 2025, accounting for 61% of total sales and $4.4 billion in operating income.
Shares continued climbing in after-hours trading, reflecting strong investor demand despite the initial pop. The stock’s volatility raises questions about whether the rally is sustainable or driven by short-term hype.
