World Series of Poker partners with Solana Foundation to enable zero-fee crypto payments for entry fees and future stablecoin payouts.

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) will accept cryptocurrency for tournament entry fees for the first time, using Solana’s blockchain. Players at the 57th annual WSOP in Las Vegas can pay fees via Solana with zero processing fees through MoonPay’s infrastructure.

The initiative rolls out in two phases: immediate support for entry fees and December’s WSOP Paradise in The Bahamas, where winners will receive payouts in stablecoins on Solana. This eliminates delays common in international transfers, leveraging Solana’s low-cost, high-speed transactions.

WSOP CEO Ty Stewart highlighted Solana’s efficiency, noting its alignment with the fast-paced nature of poker tournaments. The partnership aims to enhance the player experience by integrating blockchain technology into traditional gaming events.
