Women’s apparel retailer J.Jill reports first-quarter revenue decline amid brand transition and softer consumer demand.

J.Jill reported first-quarter sales of $144 million, a 6% decline from the prior year, as comparable sales fell 8.7%. The drop reflects softer conversion and a challenging retail environment, partially offset by new store openings and higher average unit retails.

Executives said the company remains in the early stages of a brand and product transition aimed at expanding its customer base. Comparable sales declines were steeper than the overall revenue drop, signaling ongoing pressure in direct channels.

Management did not provide guidance, citing ongoing operational challenges and the need for patience as new strategies take hold. Feedback from stores supported confidence in the long-term direction despite near-term headwinds.
