The Solana Foundation will enable crypto entry fees and stablecoin prize payouts at the World Series of Poker starting in December.
The Solana Foundation announced a partnership with the World Series of Poker to allow players to use cryptocurrency for entry fees and receive tournament payouts in stablecoins. The collaboration, facilitated by crypto payments firm MoonPay, will offer zero processing fees for buy-ins using Solana (SOL) or Solana-based stablecoins.
Stablecoin payouts for tournament prizes will begin in December at the WSOP Paradise event in the Bahamas. The initiative aims to streamline transactions and reduce friction for global participants, according to the foundation.
Solana’s infrastructure is expected to enable instant payouts, appealing to players seeking faster and more efficient fund management. The partnership reflects growing adoption of crypto in mainstream gaming and financial transactions.
