The new JV will acquire and operate 570MW of wind, solar, and battery assets under long-term PPAs across six European countries.
Mitsubishi HC Capital and Brookfield Asset Management have agreed to create a joint venture to own and manage a portfolio of renewable energy assets in Europe. The initial portfolio includes 570MW of installed capacity, valued at nearly €400m ($461m), spanning wind, solar, and battery storage projects in Finland, France, Ireland, Spain, Sweden, and the UK.
The assets are secured under long-term power purchase agreements averaging ten years, designed to generate stable cash flows. The JV, governed jointly by both firms, will focus on acquiring additional operating assets in Europe and Australia, prioritizing projects with similar contractual structures.
Brookfield will oversee operational management, supported by a dedicated team, while future investments will require approval from both partners. The seed portfolio transaction was advised by Macquarie Capital.
