China’s May inflation steady at 1.2% year-on-year
China’s inflation data for May was in line with forecasts, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) steady at 1.2% year-on-year.
The Producer Price Index (PPI) rose to 3.9%, indicating a continued reflation trend.
Food and property prices are currently suppressing headline inflation, but rising prices suggest a shift from deflation to low inflation.
