J.M. Smucker posted a 20% increase in adjusted fourth-quarter earnings per share to $2.77, driven by growth in coffee, Uncrustables, and pet foods. Net sales rose 6%, with pricing offsetting cost pressures including tariffs.
The company forecast fiscal 2027 net sales to decline 3% to 4% but expects adjusted EPS of $9.75 to $10.25, up 7% to 12%. Margin expansion is anticipated from lower green coffee and commodity costs, alongside productivity savings.
Smucker also highlighted debt reduction efforts, paying down $720 million in fiscal 2026 and targeting $500 million more in fiscal 2027. Shares surged 9% following the announcement.
