The all-cash deal adds a specialty insurer to HHH’s portfolio and includes a $200m capital infusion to strengthen Vantage’s balance sheet.
Howard Hughes Holdings has completed its $2.1bn acquisition of Vantage Group, a specialty insurer, following regulatory approvals. The transaction, announced in December 2025, marks a strategic expansion into insurance and reinsurance for HHH as it diversifies its holding company structure.
Vantage, founded in 2020, underwrites insurance and reinsurance products through subsidiaries including Vantage Risk and Vantage Risk Specialty Insurance Company. The company will retain its existing management and commercial strategy, with HHH injecting $200m to enhance its credit profile and underwriting capacity.
Vantage CEO Greg Hendrick stated the deal provides permanent capital and a long-term horizon while maintaining underwriting discipline. Pershing Square Capital Management will assume management oversight as part of the transaction.
