SpaceX gets 100% property tax exemption for Texas factory
SpaceX has secured a 100% property tax exemption for its planned $55 billion Terafab semiconductor chip manufacturing facility in Texas.
The company will instead pay a $10 million lump sum to the county, followed by $20 million for the next 35 years.
The facility aims to create a terawatt of computing power each year, with plans to produce chips for Tesla vehicles and space-based data centers.
The deal was approved by commissioners despite community concerns over transparency and infrastructure strain.
