European equities rose modestly as investors awaited the US nonfarm payrolls report and monitored US-Iran tensions. The CAC 40 gained 0.6% and the DAX added 0.3%, while WTI crude remained steady at $93.03 after an explosion disrupted loading at Oman’s Mina al Fahal port.

Analysts expect the US jobs data to provide clues on interest rate expectations, following a week of mixed economic signals. Euro area growth was revised downward for Q1 2026, reflecting a contraction, while UK house prices showed slight resilience in May.

US futures were mixed, with Nasdaq futures down 1.0% and Dow futures up 0.2%. Gold dipped 0.2% to $4,465, and Bitcoin fell 2.1% to $62,244. The GBP outperformed the USD, while US 10-year yields held flat at 4.475%.
