Pinterest Inc (PINS) has agreed to a $4 billion investment in Amazon Web Services (AWS) through 2031, marking its largest infrastructure commitment to date. The deal aims to bolster AI capabilities, including model training and inference workloads, using AWS custom silicon like Trainium and Graviton processors.

The partnership extends a 14-year relationship, with Pinterest currently running a third of its compute footprint on AWS Graviton. The platform serves over 600 million monthly users, relying on AI for search, recommendations, and personalized content.

Pinterest plans to expand AI-driven features, such as multimodal recommendation systems and the recently launched Pinterest Assistant, a conversational discovery tool built on vision-language models.
