A high-stakes bet between Arthur Hayes and Kyle Samani pits Hyperliquid’s $1.25bn revenue against Solana’s inflation and fee leakage.

Crypto traders Arthur Hayes and Kyle Samani have placed a $100,000 bet on $HYPE outperforming $SOL by the end of 2026. Hayes backs Hyperliquid, which generates $1.25bn in annualized revenue and uses 97% of fees to buy back $HYPE, compressing its fixed supply.

Solana faces 5% annual inflation and validator fee leakage, while its memecoin activity has dropped 85%. Hyperliquid holds 73% of the perpetuals market share and is encroaching on CME’s commodities dominance, challenging legacy Layer 1 narratives.

The wager highlights contrasting fundamentals: Hyperliquid’s revenue-driven tokenomics versus Solana’s inflationary model and declining ecosystem momentum.
