Australia’s trade balance surplus rose to 1.791bn AUD in April
Australia’s trade data for April 2026 showed a significant increase in exports, resulting in a trade balance surplus of 1.791bn AUD.
The surplus was expected to be -1.61bn AUD, but strong exports of iron ore, coal, and LPG contributed to the higher-than-expected surplus.
In comparison, the prior month’s trade balance was -1.84bn AUD, indicating a substantial improvement in April.
